Summary
My program as a faculty member integrates research, teaching, and service to advance the field of precision livestock farming (PLF) while fostering an inclusive academic community. In my research, I develop and apply sensor-driven technologies, such as audio-based monitoring and edge computing solutions, to gather high-resolution data that optimize animal health, well-being, and productivity. In my teaching, I encourage students to discover and leverage their unique strengths, offering specialized undergraduate and graduate courses, along with national workshops, to cultivate both domain expertise and data science skills. My service roles, including reviewing journal manuscripts and serving on committees at the departmental and college levels, reflect a commitment to sustaining a collaborative environment in which scholarship can thrive. Through these efforts, I aim to create scientifically rigorous, economically viable, and socially responsible data-driven solutions for livestock management while nurturing a supportive community for the next generation of animal science professionals.
