
Summary
Kaitlyn is an undergraduate in Dairy Science at Virginia Tech in the Accelerated Pre-Veterinary Program, with a minor in Animal Science Equine and a GPA of 3.925. A Veterinary Scholars Accelerated Program member and CALS Dean's Scholar, she is pursuing an accelerated B.S./M.S. pathway with a concentration in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare. In Dr. Chen's lab, Kaitlyn works on tracking dressage rider position and horse performance using a novel computer vision model, with the goal of developing objective tools for equine sport evaluation. She brings extensive hands-on equine clinical experience from internships in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and general practice across South Carolina.
